Our Eighth Summer at Tustan: Tu Stan. The Hero's Path 2026

7 October 2026

Traditionally, at the end of July and the beginning of August, you will find Atira Ruthenia at Tustan. In 2026 we took part in "Tu Stan. The Hero's Path" for what was probably the eighth time.

The festival ran from 31 July to 2 August at the Tustan cliff fortress, a State Historical and Cultural Reserve in the Lviv region. Its programme brought together historical camps, craft workshops, knightly duels and military manoeuvres, a market, lectures, a literary stage and evening concerts. This year the festival was dedicated to the memory of Andriy Parubiy, one of its founders, and raised funds for Ukrainian military units.

A journey in time and space

For our team, Tustan is a long trip (more than 1,300 km) and always worth it: good people, period activities and days lived in a medieval camp. This year brought everything from +35°C heat to several days of thunderstorms and cold mountain streams, and none of it got in the way.

As in previous years, we camped alongside our long-standing friends from the Chorna Halych club.

Thanks

We thank the festival organisers, the participants and everyone who comes back every year so that Tustan can exist, flourish and grow. See you next summer!
